The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Dholera’s role in smart city development is all about enhancing and improving the lives of people through social innovation and providing an effective solution.
For instance, as a part of the CSR initiative, two significant activities were implemented for the children of 22 villages that are a part of Dholera SIR. The initial activity involved the advancement of one of the classes at the primary schools as a Smart Class. The smart class has a hi-tech projector and pre-installed videos & syllabus from standard 1 to 7. The idea was to help the students learn better via video-based learning and generate curiosity to learn more. Smart classes were developed and special care was taken to have an UPS in each of these classes since the villages have concerns with power cuts.
Training to operate the hi-tech system installed for smart classes was also given to school teachers for operating smart class facilities and upgradation to the school students.
The secondary activity comprised of renovating and developing the Aanganwadis in these villages. The objective was to generate interest within the kids to come to the classes and study. To capture the student’s attention renovations were done in the Aanganwadis based on some interesting themes like Jungle Book/Cartoons etc. As a result, the students would encourage their parents to send them to Aanganwadis.
